2025/26
The 16 goals were worth nothing. The Europe run was worth everything.
Jonatan Braut Brunes finished on 16 points against a pass mark of 15 — registrable, comfortably. But not for the reason a scout would write up. Strip out one competition and the same striker is a panel case.

Where the points come from
Note what the goals are worth: nothing. The FA does not count goals, assists or any output at all. It counts minutes, bands and how far the club went — which is why the best player in a Band 5 league can score worse than a squad player in Band 2.

15 points required for an automatic grant
Registrable. But look at where it came from: 7 points without the European campaign, 16 with it. The Conference League run is doing more work than a full season of Ekstraklasa football, and it is the one thing on this profile the club cannot guarantee will happen again.
The same season, played somewhere else
Identical record — same minutes share, same fourth-place finish, same run to the last 16 — moved league by league. Nothing about the player changes. Only the band does.

The same season is worth nearly twice as much in the Eredivisie as in the Ekstraklasa, and in Band 6 it does not clear the panel floor at all. This is the thing shortlists most often get wrong: they rank on ability and never check the band.
Why this matters for the way you track him
A GBE score is not a fixed attribute of a player. It is a snapshot of a rolling reference period, and it moves for reasons that have nothing to do with how he is playing.
Timing
The window decides the number
Those European minutes sit inside a rolling 12-month reference period. Move on him in the summer and they count. Wait, and a club knocked out in qualifying loses them — same striker, 7 points, panel territory.
Dependency
He is carried by his club
Nine of his points come from Raków's season, not his own. A move to a club outside Europe — even a better club — can lower his score. Worth flagging on the profile before anyone books a trip.
Direction
A band move settles it
He went to Sparta Prague in July 2026. A season in a stronger league removes the dependency on a cup run entirely. Whoever kept him on the follow list through that move has a cleaner case twelve months on.
None of that is visible from a goal tally or a live view. It is the difference between knowing a player is good and knowing he is attainable — and it is worth thirty seconds before the trip rather than a conversation after the medical.
Do this for your own shortlist
Every analysis on this page — the points breakdown, the band comparison, the dependency on one competition — comes out of the free calculator. Run a target through it and you get the same working, with every FA citation, in about thirty seconds.
Tracking more than one name? £29/month saves your shortlist and tells you when a reband moves someone on it — the change that silently rewrote this player's score.
Sources and assumptions
Appearance, goal and minute totals from public season records for 2025/26. League table position and Conference League progression from the 2025/26 Raków Częstochowa season record. Market value and contract length from Transfermarkt. Club badge from Wikimedia Commons (public domain, trademarked).
Available league minutes calculated as 34 matches × 90 minutes = 3,060. The FA deducts any period a player was unavailable for selection, which would raise his share slightly; we have not assumed any deduction.
Continental minutes counted from the group stage onwards only, per the FA definition — qualifying-round minutes are excluded. International appearances taken as zero competitive senior caps in the reference period; Norway's ranking band is applied but pays nothing at that share.
Calculated against the FA's 2026/27 criteria. Read the source document. This is an illustration of how the criteria work, not a recruitment recommendation, and not a statement about any club's interest in the player.
The five ways a GBE check goes wrong
One email, straight away, with the mistakes that cost clubs a signing: dual nationality missed, last season's bands used, minutes counted instead of shared, the loan rule ignored, a panel treated as a plan. After that, only when the FA moves the bands.
